Things you may wonder before your first meetup.
Here are the questions we hear most often.
What English level do I need?+
If you can understand everyday English and build simple sentences, you can join. Meetups are mainly designed around A2–B2+ levels.
Can I come alone?+
Yes. Many people come to their first meetup alone; table rotations and games make meeting people easier.
How much does it cost?+
Your first meetup is free. Current in-person and online prices are listed in the Participation section.
Where are the meetups held?+
In-person meetups take place at cafés and social venues in Eryaman. Online joining links are shared after registration.
How do online speaking meetups work?+
They are live group speaking-practice sessions. Choose “Online” in the form and the relevant date and joining link will be shared.
Is the first online meetup free too?+
Yes. Your first online speaking meetup is free.
Is this an English course?+
No. Eryaman Speaking Club is a social speaking community. We prepare the setting and activities; participants create the conversation.
Is online speaking the same as a private lesson?+
No. Online speaking meetups are group practice. One-to-one lessons are separate; see the private lessons page.
